Confab: Federal Government monetises accommodation for delegates

The Federal Government has said that delegates to the national conference will be responsible for their accommodation. This, the Federal Government said, was because money for the accommodation would be included in their allowances. The Assistant Secretary of the National Conference (Media and Communications), Mr. James Akpandem, who confirmed this, told our correspondent that the accommodation arrangements for the delegates to the national conference had been monetized. He said, “Most of the delegates have houses in Abuja and many of them preferred monetising the accommodation for them and that was what the Federal Government has done.”
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed about 2,000 personnel, including sniffer dogs for the national conference which is commencing next week. The corps said its men and dogs had taken charge at the National Judicial Council venue of the confab along Airport Road, Abuja. The NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Okeh, told one of our correspondents that all the entry and exit points of the Federal Capital Territory had been placed under security watch by the agency.
