FG Unveils Framework For Youth Development

The federal government yesterday unveiled a strategic framework aimed at accelerating youth development in the country in line with the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan. While revealing the framework, the minister of youth development, Inuwa Abdul-Kadir, stated that the new framework was divided into four domains, the social mobilisation, the leadership development, the social media and the youth employment.

He stated that the ministry under the youth employment would provide support structure, monitoring and evaluation for all on-going employability and entrepreneurship development programme in the federal, state and local government areas and added that the ministry has started the process of institutionalising a career assessment programme as major component of the NYSC camping.

Abdul-Kadir explained that the ministry will seek to establish the 360 degree leadership principles as a paradigm which will serve as the foundation for self-reliant and responsible citizen across the youths adding that it will in collaboration with the education ministry organise debate, essay and leadership clinic through the media.
