United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has raised concerns over the non-availability of data on enrolment in public schools. Country Director Ade Lekoetje, while on a courtesy visit to the Universal Basic Education Commission on Thursday said the global economic crisis has made stricter monitoring of UNDP’s intervention programmes in developing countries very necessary. Lekoetje said at state and national levels, only statistics on school attendance are on ground.
Executive Secretary of UBEC Ahmed Modibbo said the Federal Government has granted approval to expand the commission’s mandate. – http://allafrica.com/stories/201208030729.html
