Rights group submits lists of corrupt officials to government

A CIVIL society organisation, Rights Monitoring Group (RMG), has compiled a list of allegedly corrupt Nigerians, which it claimed to have forwarded to the Federal Government. According to the group, the corrupt officials among whom are current cabinet ministers allegedly acquired property within and outside the country with money, which could not be said to be proceeds of their income.

National Coordinator of RMG and Executive Director, Centre on Convention for Democratic Integrity (RMG/CCDI), Olufemi Aduwo, who revealed this during a chat with journalists at the weekend, urged President Jonathan to dissolve his cabinet to weed off corrupt officials still in government. He said the list of the alleged corrupt officials and their illegally acquired property had been forwarded to the Federal Government.

Aduwo urged the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Ministry to set up a reform advisory committee to be saddled with the responsibility of formulating and implementing policies that would be strategic to the development of the city in line with the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.
