Police identify 23 black spots in Jos

Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Diipo Ayeni, has warned those planning to attack Jos and other areas in the state to desist from the evil plan because if they were arrested, they would be treated as criminals. The commissioner who handed out this warning at a parley with security agencies, religious leaders and other stakeholders on the need to make Christmas and New Year celebrations peaceful yesterday said, intelligence reports from different sources indicated that there are some areas in and outside Jos metropolis that have been targeted for bombing.

He listed 23 places including eight churches, 10 relaxation centres, two markets, one Pharmacy and two other areas as slated for the bombing. These include Arch-Bishop Jenta Adamu, Mountain of Fire and Miracle church by UTC, ECWA, Good News Church Bishara and Sacred Heart Kabong, Living Faith Church Alhari; others are Living Faith Church Kabong, St. Murrumba Alhari and Redeem Christian Church of God Alhari. The relaxation center include Samunaka viewing center Kabong, Step joint Alheri, Civil Service Club along Fidelis Tapgun street, Melody guest house Rukuba Road and El-Kasim guest house Rukuba Road. Others are Obalende Joint near Polo field, Millennium Park, Meeting point Joint Rukuba Road Zig House Kabong and Cool Penny Kabong. The markets include Satellite market Rukuba Road and Gyel Market. Lamed Pharmacy, West of Mine area and Abattoir area in Jos were also slated for bombing.

The commissioner however assured that security measures have been put in place to ensure that the evil perpetrators do not succeed, stressing that they would not be allowed an inch of operational avenue in Plateau State.
